Two different brands, Arktek and Comme des Garcons, came together to create this unique fragrance that depicts the scent of timeless design. The scent, Standard, was developed by both brands’ mutual curiosity of re-inventing design. Standard is a new fragrance with a distinct Boreal flavor with a hint of metallic tang and lemon-ginger opening. It is blended with two rarely used materials from Finnland, where the design company Artek was founded by Alvar Aalto. Labrador Tea and twinflower, an almond-tinged blossom from the honeysuckle family, were added as an undertone for a “anti-perfume” flavor. Overall the scent has a medicinal-woody scent, with pencil-shaving fumes of cedar and a smoky-scented incense effect, which is very “standard” for a Comme des Garcons’ fragrance.
