In 1944, Kia Motors, then known as ‘Kyungsung Precision Industries,’ had its humble start as a steel tubing and handmade bicycle parts manufacturer. Little did the modest start-up know at the time, but this operation would later pave the way to manufacturing vehicles of all kinds, and lead Kia to becoming one of the world’s fastest growing automotive brands. That’s right, it all began with a metal frame that connected a saddle seat, two wheels, foot pedals and a set of handle bars to create the most basic form of mechanical transportation.
Before becoming a major player in the worldwide motor car industry, kia motors traces its roots to kyungsung precision industries, a humble steel tubing and bicycle parts manufacturer.
Today, in tune with modern days and looking for cleaner, sustainable ways of transportation, kia launches the K-Velo range. This is the first ever bicycle lineup designed by Peter Schreyer, with clean and stylish lines that also features the ‘tiger nose’ design signature in the front basket, to maintain the brand identity even in these simple, basic products.
The K-Velo lineup is available in two form-factors: City (featuring a 11 speed gearing and dark grey metallic paint as standard) and Speed (with ultra lightweight structure and high-gloss silver paint). Both includes 20 inch multispoke wheels.
