Designed by Rhode Island-based Cutter Hutton exclusively for Teroforma, the Troika Trivet is an adaptive, multi-arm food serving tool comprised of 3 modular pieces. Constructed from walnut or beech wood and stainless steel, the key to the trivet’s functionality is the use of “hidden” embedded rare earth magnets. Their intense magnetism in small size allows the arms of the trivet to form a strong bond when joined and to “slide” along the stainless steel contact points to adapt for larger or smaller diameter dishes. The rapid dis-assembly and compact storage of the modular arms highlights the essential role of the magnets which, in storage mode, ensure that the components of the trivet stay together and are not lost amongst kitchen chaos.
