Flag dominos. Fredericks and mae.

Fredericks and mae-1

Blog Widget by LinkWithin

Designed by Fredericks & Mae, each domino has been crafted from Baltic birch wood and silk screened with nautical flags that communicate numbers 1 through 6. A clever approach to a traditional game, the Flag Dominoes will entrance young and old alike.

Flag Dominos replace the classic dots (or pips), with silkscreened nautical flags used to communicate numbers 0-6. Box comes with booklet.

The game’s name comes from the pieces’ resemblance to Venetian Carnival masks known as domino, which were white with black spots. These masks were so named, in turn, because they resembled French priests’ winter hoods, being black on the outside and white on the inside. The oldest known domino set was found in Tutankamen’s tomb, among the ruin of Thebes.
