Variable Balans was initially designed in 1979 by Peter Opsvik and has been produced by Norwegian furniture company Verier since 2006. This unique chair was designed with the intention of variety and activity. The two separate knee pads provide for more options for foot placement and seating angle. The chair may also work for the sitter and help to strengthen abdominal and back muscles; removing the weight of the upper body from the spine and instead utilizing core muscle groups.
