Hareide Design has designed the next generation LTU telegraph lever for Kongsberg Maritime

Simplicity. The LTU represents the core of operation on a ship bridge: propulsion. To stand out among the visual noise where it is placed, simplicity is our focus. With operation, functionality and situational awareness as the main driver, the product has a direct interaction and a simplistic form language. Suitable technology is chosen and even developed to support this. The three interaction levels start with the handshake, a good grip with force feedback to simulate relative resistance and give the operator a sense of what is happening, accompanied by colour coded digits and indicators. Second is the minimal touch display for mode selection. Thirdly, the side indicators communicate current position in a logical way to other personnel on the bridge and machine room. Advanced light emitters in combination with several micro computers allows the product to perform according to user and situational needs.
