It’s no mistake that the Midcentury Sunshade (1955) evokes the minimalist aesthetic of Southern California modern in the 1950s: It was developed by Brown Jordan for the Case Study houses. The shade’s sculptural form is dictated by its versatile functionality. Its small footprint allows for flexible placement, and the rotating shade is easy to adjust as the sun moves across the sky or whenever you change seats or switch activities. To rotate the Sunshade from horizontal to vertical, simply loosen and retighten the handle at the top of the pole. Contract quality, the Midcentury Sunshade works well in multiples to shade individual lounge chairs or dining tables. The Mobile Stand (sold separately) is made from concrete-filled aluminum with Tuff-Wheels™ for easy maneuverability. Robert Brown and Hubert Jordan, who started their California-based company in 1945, have since helped to define the shape of modern outdoor leisure furniture and accessories. A PVC insert in the hole of the base will need to be removed prior to installation. Made in Mexico.
