E 1027. Eileen gray.

Blog Widget by LinkWithin

Eileen Gray carefully designed this classic side table in 1927 for ClassiCon. Its smart proportions and distinctive form have made this table one of the most popular design icons in the 20th century. This height-adjustable table was named after the summer house E 1027 that Gray built for herself and her collaborator Jean Badovici. The “e” stands for Eileen, the “10” for Jean, “j” being the 10th letter of the alphabet, 2 for “b” (Badovici) and 7 for “g” (Gray). The frame of the E 1027 is made from chromium-plated steel tubing with a crystal glass table top in clear, parsol grey, or metal black. A classic design that will not go out of style anytime soon- it’s already been more than 80 years!
