The Grasshopper Lamp is a classically designed piece by the great architect and designer, Greta Magnusson Grossman, in 1947. Grossman played a significant role in defining the aesthetic of mid-century Californian Modernism. You no longer have to search high and low for an original as they have been reissued by Danish lighting brand Gubi.. It has a tripod stand and elongated conical shade that rotates so you can direct the light where needed. This attractive light is made with powder-coated steel, solid brass hardware, fabric-covered cord. The tubular steel tripod stand is tilted backward and the elongated aluminium conical shade is ball-jointed onto the arm; so the light can be directional, yet the glare is minimal. Both stand and shade are powder-coated. They are available in a sophisticated and understated color range of vintage in warm gray, vintage red, jet black, anthracite grey. The floor lamp was reissued by Gubi in 2011.
